Hot yoga, power yoga, flow yoga.  How about getting back to the basics of Gentle Yoga?

So many people like the “fad” types of yoga but are missing out on the real purpose of yoga practice:

TO BRING THE BODY AND MIND TOGETHER
IN ONE HARMONIOUS EXPRESSION

The word yoga mean to join or unite and  that should be  the goal of a yoga session.

Yoga is structured so you learn POSES (asnas), for strength, BREATHING to get your energy flowing thru your body and MEDITATE to calm your mind.
There should be no competition among participants no pain and no feelings of being inadequate. Modifications should always be offered for all asnas.

It is well known that balance, posture and other elements of fitness and health diminish as we age. By incorporating a Gentle Yoga practice into your life, you will see these areas improve and additionally feel more calm.

Yoga can increase your flexibility (no, you do not have to be flexible to do yoga!)

Strengthen your muscles
Center your thoughts and
Relax and calm you

And these are all qualities that contribute to overall wellness.

YOGA IS FOR ANY AGE AND ANY BODY.

All that is needed is a willingness to learn.
