I love all crystals! Their powers are amazing. And I believe in living your life and forgetting about your age. So when I heard about using a jade roller on your face to help rejuvenate your skin, I had to find out more.
Being a crystal junkie, I knew that jade was a stone to help bring prosperity into your life and that it helped to absorb negative energy. It also carries properties to help balance your inner energies and bring a sense of harmony and balance into your life.
However, in Traditional Chinese Medicine it is known for its’:
- healing energies
- helps to relax the nervous system
- eliminate toxins from the skin
- and is a sign of power and immortality.
I’m liking this little green gem even more now!
And it’s been used as an integral part of Chinese beauty regimes since at least the 7th Century. So it’s not some “New Age” tool.
But really – what’s the point of using a tool that looks like a paint roller on your face? Gemstone or not!
Well, here is some pretty convincing information that convinced me to try this technique:
By INCREASING BLOOD CIRCULATION it can help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
Helps with LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE which reduces inflammation and puffiness. (Too much salt the night before and you wake up with a puffy morning face?)
TONES UP FACIAL MUSCLES
TIGHTENS PORES – especially if you put it in the fridge before using
BRIGHTENS YOUR COMPLEXION
Helps to ABSORB SKINCARE PRODUCTS DEEPER
RELIEVES FACIAL STRESS
And you can DIY IN A ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES. Sure having it done at a spa is a treat, but doing this on a consistent basis is what helps to make it work. Even just a few times a week is beneficial!
In many ways the benefits are similar to Skin Icing (here’s a link to a blog I wrote on that: http://livebalancednaturally.com/use-skin-icing-rejuvenate-skin/) so you might want to alternate between the two methods.
But I am finding with the face rolling method, that my make-up goes on smoother because my facial serum is massaged into my skin. Where Icing is done on bare skin.
You can use your face roller in the morning or before bed. I prefer morning because it helps with puffiness and like I mentioned, my make-up goes on smoother. Plus I’m usually too tired at night for a longer skin care regimen!
Putting your roller in the fridge before is an added treat!
Remember to always roll up and outward to drain the Lymph. Never back and forth.
Repeat each stroke 3-5 times.
So here’s how to use a face roller:
- Make sure your skin is freshly cleaned and you have applied your face oil or serum.
- Using the larger roller: Start at the base of your neck and roll upwards. You want to work against gravity.
- Then roll from your jawline up towards the middle of your cheek.
- After this, roll from the middle of your chin using broad strokes with the roller out towards your ear, where the Lymph drains from your face.
- Continue moving up your face: over your lips, under your nose, from the bridge of your nose. Always using broad strokes and ending at your ear.
- Switch to the smaller roller for under your eyes.
- Switch back to the larger roller and roll from your eyebrows to your hairline.
- Finish by rolling from the middle of your forehead out towards the temples.
Make sure to wash your roller in warm water after each use.
And to add to it, there are face rollers also made with rose quartz, amethyst, and clear quartz. Which means the basic face rolling benefits are the same but the gemstone benefits differ. I’ll probably have a different roller for each day of the week!
I’d love to hear what you think of this natural way to rejuvenate your skin.

Juicing fresh fruits is one of the best ways to help your skin to look radiantly healthy.
The anti-oxidants and nutrients in berries are amazing.
And when you juice them – either in a juicer or hi-speed blender – all of those nutrients go directly into your system.
Frozen berry blends are always a good substitute if fresh fruits aren’t available.
If using a hi-speed blender add some purified water.
As always, organic is the most nutritious. And remember to wash your fruits before juicing.
